Statue of Ganesh ,The remover of obstacles.

Shiva, the Lord of the Universe, Retreated to a cave in the Himalayas for 15years. when he returned home he found a young man in his bedroom, and thinking that this was his wifes lover he flew into a rage drew his sword and cut of the young mans head.  His wife entered  the room and screamed Shiva you have killed your son that I gave birth to and cherished  while you have been away.                                   Shiva was immedeatly filled with remorse. The only way he could bring his son back to life was to replace his head with the head of the nearest living creature.  The nearest living creature was a baby elephant.And so that is why Ganesh has an elephants head.                                                                                                  

Everytime Shiva see`s his son he is filled with remorse for what he did, And anything his son wishes Shiva grants it.   So if you want to approach Shiva,the Lord of the Universe,its better to go through Ganesh, The remover of Obstacles.

This wheel is held in the embrace of Shenje,ruler of the dead, showing that all beings must eventualy meet death.   Shenje who again is represented in the sphere of Hell is a ferocious god with fangs. He is said to symbolize the fearfulness of death and the hideousness of clinging to life.                                                                                 Outside the wheel is a figure of the lord Buddha, his presence outside the wheel implies his escape from the cycle of life.
