As a result of the pressures and imbalance created by contempary life styles, we can become stressed and tense in various parts of the body.
Yoga advocates stretching, which will relieve body tension.And by adopting certain postures, blood and energy can be directed to different parts of the body and pressure is put on organs and glands, creating balanced secretions and the removal of waste products.
The breathing practises ensure sufficient intake of oxygen,required by every cell, and the expulsion of excess carbon dioxide;also energy is takken in by the breath that can be stored and used in the healing process.Other practises help torelax the body, calm the mind and balance the energy flow and the energy field that is often distorted through the stress of life.The techniques of mind training and meditation will help to deal with emotional problems and subconscious impressions.
