Life Coaching. An outline of the Coaching process
Life coaching focuses on helping people make the most of their lives.Specific benefits of life coaching include:
Clarifying what you want from your life – purpose,vision and values
Setting more effective goals.
Having someone on your side`to support and encourage you on your journey of change.
Having someone to keep you focused,challenge you,keep you accountable and confront you if you fall behind in your commitments to yourself.
Having a sound board for your ideas,plans and strategies.
Life coaching may focus on
career,relationships,enviroment,finance,health,stress,confidense,
spirituality
or any other area you are thinking about.
You are responsible for your success
The benefits you have just read about are all achievable through coaching – but with one caveat – there are no guarantees. To be succesfull,as in all walks of life,( YOU ) need to be prepared to do what it takes to make the change you want. If you are motivated to go for it ,then you should have no problems,but if any of the points below ring true for you ,then coaching may not be for you.
Common reasons for not making desired progress are
Prefering life to be comfortable and familiar
Thinking you have tried everything before and being unwilling to to entertain new ways of doing things.
Not completing weekly assignments which are designed to move you forward
Not keeping to regular weekly or bi-weekly sessions as big gaps between sessions inevitably slow down progress
Employing a coach because someone has recommended it because they want you to change more than you want to change yourself
How to prepare for a session
Call me from a quite place where you will not be disturbed (for phone coaching).
Have a pen and pad of paper to hand.
